Head of Programming/ Tumu Hōtaka
Auckland Arts Festival is on the look-out for a super talented and industry-savvy individual to join the Senior Management team as Head of Programming/ Tumu Hōtaka.

Auckland Arts Festival/ Te Ahurei Toi o Tāmaki is a globally recognised celebration of art and culture taking place each March in New Zealand’s largest city.
Presented annually, the 18-day event celebrates people and culture, and showcases the cultural diversity and vibrant energy of Auckland.
As Head of Programming, you’ll work closely with the Chief Executive, Artistic Director and Kaihautū Māori as well as the rest of the Festival team to plan the delivery of the annual festival programme both financially and logistically. Drawing on industry networks, you’ll work with exceptional producers, artists and artistic organisations, locally and internationally to ensure projects are successfully delivered and their time with the festival is well supported.
Managing the Programme budgets and timeline, as well as identifying production requirements will be a substantial part of this exciting role that will lead to you being/becoming a proficient user of our festival scheduling software. This role leads a team of skilled industry programme staff on a day to day basis, so excellent management skills are required.
You’ll have experience working on the finance side of performing arts projects, be a clear and friendly communicator with great attention to detail. The ability to work well in a team while under pressure in a busy festival environment is a must.
The Head of Programming role is a full-time position, preferably commencing late April to early May 2022 but we can be flexible for the right person.

Chief Executive / Kaiwhakahaere Matua
This is a rare opportunity to lead a globally recognised celebration of arts and culture.
As Chief Executive - Kaiwhakahaere Matua, you will lead a talented and experienced team focused on the development and success of Te Ahurei Toi o Tāmaki / Auckland Arts Festival. This will involve providing guidance and leadership around financial management and systems, programme viability, risk management and external relations. You will work closely with the Artistic Director to ensure the organisation meets its strategic objectives to enhance the Festival’s brand and reputation, and help drive sponsorship activity. Securing funding grants from local/regional government and other non-corporate and private sector funding sources will be a key focus, together with fostering close and effective relationships with other international and national festivals.
